Advisory Note
GEN 27/1
May 2003
This advisory note is to introduce our Association and to outline the suitability
of galvanizing to your
industry.
In practical terms, After-Fabrication Galvanizing matches steel strength and
impact resistance while providing long term corrosion control and environmental
cleanliness.
Service to end users may be summarised as:
- Long service life
- Unique abrasion resistance
- Immunity to ultraviolet degradation
- Reliability and non recurrent maintenance
- Offsite coating completion and intact installation
- Independent proof of use
Galvanizing therefore is used to provide a non recurrent maintenance surface
for steel and an impact resistant finish which withstands the roughest handling
and service wear.
We enclose some field case studies which illustrate its performance in a variety
of service functions and environments.
In particular, we offer to assist design and equipment efficiency where the
product has relevance to your industry.
We believe that there are appropriate uses in materials handling which will
normally reflect a competitive product, attractive to end users.
The Galvanizers Association of Australia is a non-profit organization established
to provide free technical support to users of the process.
